Supplies

  • 1 cup of fresh aloe vera gel
  • 4 tablespoons of a carrier oil like virgin coconut oil
  • 1-2 teaspoon honey (optional)
  • 1-2 teaspoons of fenugreek powder (optional)
  • 3-5 drops a few drops essential oil like lavender, rosemary or both (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the aloe vera gel:

  • If using fresh aloe vera leaves, slice them open and scoop out the clear gel with a spoon. Blend the gel until smooth for an even consistency.
1 cup of fresh aloe vera gel
  • Alternatively, use store-bought aloe vera gel, ensuring it’s 100% pure and free of additives.

Combine Ingredients:

  • In a mixing bowl, add the aloe vera gel, virgin coconut oil, honey, fenugreek powder, and essential oils. Stir well until the mixture is thoroughly combined and smooth.
1 cup of fresh aloe vera gel, 4 tablespoons of a carrier oil, 1-2 teaspoon honey, 1-2 teaspoons of fenugreek powder, 3-5 drops a few drops essential oil like lavender, rosemary or both

Apply the hair mask:

  • Section your hair and apply the mask generously from the roots to the tips, focusing on dry or damaged areas.
  • Gently massage the mask into your scalp to stimulate circulation and promote absorption.

Let It Sit:

  • Cover your hair with a shower cap or a towel to trap heat and enhance penetration.
  • Leave the mask on for 30-45 minutes.

Rinse and Wash:

  • Rinse your hair thoroughly with lukewarm water to remove the mask.
  • Follow up with a mild shampoo and conditioner if needed.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of aloe vera gel and coconut oil based on your hair length and thickness.
  • For extra benefits, you can add the following optional ingredients:
  • A few drops of essential oils like lavender to promote hair growth or rosemary that promotes hair thickness.
  • Add 1-2 tablespoons of honey—a natural humectant, meaning it draws moisture from the air into your hair.
  • Add 1-2 tablespoons of fenugreek powder—rich in proteins, iron, and nicotinic acid, which are excellent for hair health, making the mask more nourishing.
  • Use this hair mask once a week for best results.
  • Store any unused mixture in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • Always do a patch test if you’re new to aloe vera or coconut oil to check for any sensitivities.
