Equipment

  • Small mixing bowl
  • Whisk or spoon
  • Airtight glass jar or container for storage
  • Cotton pads or reusable makeup remover pads

Supplies

  • 1 teaspoon of witch hazel or distilled water
  • 1/4 cup of coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon of jojoba oil or extra virgin olive oil
  • Squeeze in the contents of 2 vitamin E capsules optional
  • 5 drops of lavender essential oil optional

Instructions

  • In a small mixing bowl, melt the coconut oil if it’s solid by placing it in a warm area or gently warming it in the microwave for a few seconds.
  • Once the coconut oil is melted, add the jojoba oil or extra virgin olive oil, and whisk the mixture until well combined.
  • Stir in the witch hazel or distilled water to create a slightly thinner consistency.
  • If you're using the optional vitamin E capsules, pierce them and squeeze the contents into the mixture, stirring well to incorporate.
  • Add 5 drops of lavender essential oil if you want a calming, fragrant touch to your makeup remover, and mix thoroughly.
  • Transfer the mixture into an airtight glass jar or container for storage.
  • To use, apply a small amount of the remover to a cotton pad or reusable makeup remover pad and gently wipe away eye makeup. Repeat as needed until all makeup is removed.
  • Rinse your face with lukewarm water and pat dry.

Notes

  • This remover is suitable for all skin types but is especially beneficial for dry or sensitive skin due to the moisturizing properties of coconut and jojoba oils.
  • If you prefer a non-oily remover, you can adjust the amount of witch hazel or distilled water to create a lighter consistency.
  • The lavender essential oil is optional but adds a soothing and relaxing scent, making it ideal for nighttime use.
  • Store the remover in a cool, dark place to preserve its freshness.
  • Always do a patch test when introducing new ingredients, especially around the delicate eye area.
